Thomas Groups are small gatherings of people studying and
putting into practice the contents of Ron's book on the Gospel
of Thomas.

| Just before Christmas, 2004 the Downers
Grove Friends Meeting started yet another
Thomas study group using Ron Miller's new book "The
Thomas Gospel, A Guide to Adult Spirituality". Interest
within the Meeting sprang rather spontaneously from conversations
following Miller's Deerfield lectures in September and
October. When I asked the Meeting whether there was any
desire to set up a study group, we had 17 persons sign
up within minutes - about half of the normal attendance.
Each participant bought a book, and one hour discussions
are being held at two week intervals after the Sunday
Worship Meeting. Our group seems especially attracted
to comparison of Thomas to the canonical gospels, the
similarity of Thomas believers to present day Quaker
practice, and the hitorical sources of early Christian
writings. Thanks for the leading. |
